'Assassins' was planned as a movie about Moon Se-kwang, a Korean resident in Japan who shot and killed the late First Lady Yuk Young-soo.

Moon Se-kwang attempted to assassinate President Park Chung-hee with a gun while he was reading his congratulatory speech at the 29th Liberation Day ceremony held at the National Theater in Jangchung-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul on August 15, 1974, and in the process, First Lady Yuk Young-soo was shot and killed.

It is reported that the film will cover the entire story of Moon Se-kwang's life, and Yoo Hae-jin is currently playing the role of a detective investigating the case, and Park Hae-il is expected to play the role of a reporter covering the mystery of the case.

'Assassins', which has started the main casting process, is currently in pre-production with the goal of filming within the year.
