Lee Min Ho Is Praised And Thanked By “The Legend Of The Blue Sea” Producer

In an interview with news outlet OSEN, Jin Hyuk, the producer of “The Legend of the Blue Sea,” shared his thoughts on actor Lee Min Ho.

He revealed, “Lee Min Ho has grown a lot since the last time I saw him three years ago. The character Heo Joon Jae changes a lot throughout the drama, and Lee Min Ho did a great job portraying the different sides to the character. In the climax of the series, there were many crying scenes, like when he lost his father or when he cried for Shim Chung, and Lee Min Ho carried out those scenes very impressively. He is extremely good at concentrating. I would say he has grown from a star to a real actor, considering the way he would give it his all despite the cold weather and would carefully monitor his acting.”

He further praised, “What hasn’t changed about him is that he’s a hardworking actor. He’s always humble and serious about acting. I expect he must have been really tired during the last half of filming, but he was the one who treated the staff to the most meals and coffee. I think it was very sweet of him.”

The producer also spoke up about how much Lee Min Ho contributed to creating the drama.

“In the beginning of the story, Shim Chung couldn’t talk, so Lee Min Ho had to lead all of those scenes. He gave me many ideas for the comical scenes and suggested that we do the action scenes in a certain way. You could even say that some of the scenes we shot in Spain were completed by Lee Min Ho. I’m really thankful that he helped me out with the production,” he expressed.

SBS Wednesday-Thursday Drama “Legend of the Blue Sea” will air its last episode soon this Wednesday, and viewer’s attention is focused on what kind of ending will Lee Min Ho and Jeon Ji Hyun had, whether they are able to change their fate, without repeating their sad love story in the past. Heo Jun Jae (Lee Min Ho) who left the decision to Sim Chung (Jeon Ji Hyun) whether she wanted to erase his memory, make the viewers curious about the ending. Viewers are wondering whether the couple can walk the “Pink Pearl Road’ with happy ending.

The Wednesday-Thursday SBS Drama "Legend of the Blue Sea” (Written by Park Ji Eun / Directed by Jin Hyuk / Culture Depot of South Korea / Production House Studio Dragon) revealed the 3 important points for the viewers before entering the final episode broadcast this week.

◆ Past - Present life connection and changed fate 

Sim Chung (Jeon Ji Hyun) and Heo Jun Jae (Lee Min Ho) learnt that there was a link between their present life to the past, especially between Se Hwa (Jeon Ji Hyun) and Kim Dam Ryeong (Lee Min Ho). Meanwhile, it was known that the one who threw the spear to kill the mermaid Se Hwa is indeed Yang’s Son, which is Heo Chi Hyeon in the present (Lee Ji Hoon). As the viewers perhaps have already know, Dam Ryeong then later took the spear instead for Se Hwa, but Se Hwa deepen the spear to kill herself as well, both of them died at the end. The incident was somehow connected and repeated to the present Heo Jun Jae and Sim Chung. Heo Chi Hyun (Lee Jin Hoon) point his gun towards Heo Jun Jae due to his mother, Kang Seo Hee/Kang Ji Hyeon’s arrest (Hwang Shin Hye), since his mother was led to the arrest by Heo Jun Jae. When Heo Chi Hyeon wanted to pull the trigger, Sim Chung jumped to take the bulled. Heo Chi Hyeon later was known to take his own life to change his fate. 

◆ If Sim Chung was to return to the sea forever, will she delete Heo Jun Jae’s memories? 

Their crisis seems not to end soon, and another crisis came out for “Heo Jun Jae-Sim Chung” couple. Although Sim Chung seems to gain consciousness and recover fast from the surgery, she still feel pain on her heart. Her heart hardens even when she tried to cover it from Heo Jun Jae. However, Heo Jun Jae knew that Sim Chung was hiding something from himself. Eventually, He give Sim Chung her bracelet back, the one that has “Kim Dam Ryeong” name written, which he received from Sim Chung before. He later said to Sim Chung “Will you get better, if you return to the sea?”

Heo Jun Jae, knowing Sim Chung’s abilities, also ask her to not delete his memories. He said “You also did not erase my memories of my father when i ask you to. You said that it’s better to still remember how you love someone, even when it’s painful to live with the memory.”,confirming his love for Sim Chung. He prefer to live on with painful memories of Sim Chung and said “Because my love for you seems to be longer than my lifetime..chose, whether you wanted to erase it or not” and Sim Chung replied “I’ve made the choice” and kiss Heo Jun Jae.

◆ Would they be able to meet again? 

In the last episode supposed to be broadcasted on the 25th of January, all of the answer will be revealed whether Heo Jun Jae and Sim Chung able to the walk the “Pink Pearl” road. It’s still ot possible to know what kind of choice that Sim Chung made before she kissed Heo Jun Jae with her sad eyes. Up to the point where Heo Jun Jae said “My love for you seems be longer than my life time..in the end, i believe that we’ll meet again~”.Viewers are speculating Heo Jun Jae’s meaningful words are meant for his hope towards a happy ending.

The crew of “Legend of he Blue Sea” stated, “The couple wanted to keep happy memories of each other while living in different places. Chung wanted to delete Heo Jun Jae’s memories so that Heo Jun Jae won’t suffer in sadness. Please confirm the end, and keep supporting and loving the last broadcast of the drama.”
