Lee Min Ho | 'Love & Peace UN Friends Asia-Pacific Global Peace & Love in Tokyo 2010' October 13, 2010

Actor Lee Min-ho was invited to represent Korea at the 'Love & Peace UN Friends Asia-Pacific Global Peace & Love in Tokyo 2010' event. This was considered a significant honor, and sources from that time noted the unusual nature of an actor receiving such an invitation.

In 2010, following the massive success of the drama Boys Over Flowers, Lee Min-ho had achieved considerable fame across Asia, which led to numerous ambassadorial and representative roles. That same year, he was also appointed as a celebrity ambassador for the Asia Song Festival alongside Jackie Chan, an event with all proceeds donated to UNICEF

His extensive global reach and positive image as a leading Hallyu star have often resulted in him taking on a quasi-ambassadorial role, representing Korea's cultural content and image at various international events and initiatives throughout his career

This event has been part of the broader series of activities related to the UN International Day of Peace, which is officially observed annually on September 21.

MINOZ was launched in 2009 by Lee Min Ho’s management at the time, Starhaus Entertainment, after his rise to fame through Boys Over Flowers.

Here’s the breakdown:

"MINOZ" = "Min Ho" + "z", a stylized suffix often used in fan club name to make
     them sound distinctive and community-like.

The name was meant to give fans a unique identity while emphasizing closeness
    to the star.

Although the agency officially coined the term, Lee Min Ho himself has acknowledged and embraced MINOZ over the years, often mentioning them in fan meetings, award speeches, and social media with deep appreciation.

The official launch date of Lee Min Ho’s global fan club, MINOZ, is June 21, 2009. This date marks the establishment of MINOZ as his dedicated fan community.

Since its inception, MINOZ has grown into a global fandom with official branches in Korea and Japan, and fan communities in 145 countries worldwide.
