Did Lee Min Ho Regrets Enlisting in the Army Late?

Did the Actor #LeeMinHo regrets enlisting in the army late as he lost many endorsement deals and projects?

Lee Min Ho is one of the hottest stars in South Korea and he is also very popular overseas especially in Japan, Philippines, Indonesia and more. He is 32 years old now and just making his second comeback in show business since he has been away for two years due to the mandatory army service in his home country.

He entered the army when he was already 30 and it was also a period where he was at the peak of his career. Min Ho has many endorsement deals both in Korean and overseas, he has been touring the world for his fan meetings and he has dramas and movies in the lineup but suddenly, he needs to enlist. So, did he regretted the fact that he enlisted late rather than do it when he was younger?

Min Ho’s comments before enlistment in 2017

The actor’s last appearance on TV before he served in the army was through the drama, “Legends of the Blue Sea.” He starred with A-list actress Jun Ji Hyun and his popularity exploded even more after this drama and he could have taken advantage of this but it is time to go to the army which people will find regretful.

But for Lee Min Ho, he said that he is actually thankful that he made the decision to enlist late than when he was young because if he had enlisted earlier, he might have not made a name for himself. He acknowledged that he started to be known after appearing in “Boys Over Flowers” that was released in 2009.

If I had gone to the military earlier, I would've missed out on starring in 'Boys Over Flowers' and often think whether or not I could've truly enjoyed my life in the 20s,” Min Ho told Star1 News via Allkpop in 2017. “I personally feel I made the right decision not to go to the army earlier because I was able to meet with numerous loving and supportive fans overseas. I was happy to see the Korean Wave spread out to various parts of the world."

Min Ho’s comeback drama in 2019

After serving in the army for nearly two years, Lee Min Ho is returning to TV with a drama titled “The King: The Eternal Monarch.” He proved once again that he made the right decision to enlist later because even after two years, the fans who came to love him over the years have waited for him and they are excited for his comeback.
